Are there any coverage restrictions?

Daily care
  • Reimbursement of 80% of medical expenses other than hospitalisation and limited to €1,000 or €2,500 (specified in your contract) per calendar year and per insured.
  • Limit of 85€ on spectacle frames, with a maximum of 1 spectacle frame every 36 months.
  • Limit of €35 on vaccine reimbursement.
Hospitalization
  • Reimbursement up to 50% of the total hospital bill, including pre-post costs and major illnesses if the statutory health insurance does not reimburse any item on the hospital bill.
  • The reimbursement of a planned hospitalization within the other EU member states is limited to 25,000€. This restriction does not apply to Belgium.
  • The reimbursement of an unplanned hospitalization abroad is limited to €500,000. This limitation applies both for other EU Member States as well as third countries.
  • Limit of €1,000 for the donor's medical expenses.
  • Limit of €1,000 on the cost of a wig.
  • A total limit of €5,000 for the reimbursement of prostheses, orthopedic appliances, medical equipment and medical medical aids if the statutory health insurance does not intervenes.

What is not covered?

  • The care not provided in the section ‘what is covered?' and in particular: contraception, sterilisation, fertility treatments, surrogacy, refractive eye surgery, thermalism, thalassotherapy, hygienic-dietetic therapy, breastfeeding advice, sleep coaching.
  • Care not prescribed and provided by a health care provider recognized by the RIZIV/INAMI, or the care provided by a homoeopath, osteopath or chiropractor who are not recognized by the health insurance fund, or the care provided by an acupuncturist not recognized by the professional association.
  • Care as a result of drug use, alcohol abuse, or as a result of an intentional or reckless behaviour.
  • Aesthetic treatments, or functional/subjective ailments, the cause or symptoms of which cannot be medically explained.
  • Dental is not covered in the outpatient care cover.

  • The information document about the insurance product (IPID) is solely intended to provide you with an overview of the main coverages and exclusions relating to these products. It is not adapted to your specific needs and the information contained herein is not exhaustive.
  • The contract can be cancelled at any time by the policyholder. Terms and conditions are applicable until 31 December of the covered year and are yearly tacit renewed for 1 year.
